Terms of use
These terms apply when you use Stridewise, an adaptive running coach operated by [Operator name], [Registered address] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.
Not medical advice
Stridewise gives general training guidance based on published formulas and rules. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or qualified coach.
- Check with a doctor before starting a new training programme if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have any doubts about your health.
- If you have pain or an injury, stop running and get advice from a doctor or physiotherapist. Do not rely on Stridewise to tell you when it is safe to run.
- Stop immediately and seek medical help if you have chest pain, dizziness, fainting, palpitations or unusual breathlessness.
- You are responsible for deciding whether each session is right for you on the day, including in heat, cold, darkness or traffic.
Your account
- You must be 16 or over to use Stridewise.
- You sign in with Strava, and you must keep your Strava account secure.
- You can disconnect Strava or delete your account and data at any time from settings. You can also stop using Stridewise at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Access or try to access anyone else’s account or data.
- Interfere with, overload or try to break the security of Stridewise.
- Scrape, copy or resell the service or any data from it.
- Use Stridewise for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why where we can.
Strava
Stridewise uses the Strava API to read your activities. Strava, the Strava logo and “Powered by Strava” are trademarks of Strava, Inc. Stridewise is an independent product. It is not developed, sponsored or endorsed by Strava.
Your use of Strava is governed by Strava’s own terms. If Strava changes or withdraws API access, parts of Stridewise may stop working.
The service
We aim to keep Stridewise available and accurate, but it is provided as it is and as available. Plans, predictions and scores are estimates and can be wrong, for example when sensor data is faulty. We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop offering the service with reasonable notice.
Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or that result from you not following the advice in these terms, including training through pain or illness.
- Stridewise is provided for personal, non-commercial use. We are not liable for business losses such as lost profits or business interruption.
- If you use Stridewise as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Changes to these terms
If we make significant changes, we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before then. The date at the top shows when these terms were last updated.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings there.
